Introducing the Training section
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of organisations — from NHS services to universities, charities, professional bodies, and grassroots community groups. Some collaborations have focused on building compassion-based approaches in clinical teams, others on supporting reflective practice, supervision, or trauma-informed care. Whatever the context, I’ve always tried to show up with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to learning alongside others.
The Training section of this website is a home for that strand of my work. It brings together the organisations I’ve worked with, a selection of courses and workshops I’ve developed or facilitated, and upcoming events you might be interested in attending. It’s part archive, part invitation.
What I hope comes through in this section — and in all of my work, really — is that training isn’t just about passing on knowledge. It’s about co-creating spaces where people can pause, connect, reflect, and feel resourced. Some of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in training settings have come not from presenting slides, but from witnessing people make sense of things together: connecting ideas to their own values, to the people they support, or to the communities they belong to.
I’ve also come to really see the value in arranging follow-up consultations with teams, services, and individuals after a workshop. Sometimes the most helpful learning experience isn’t in the formal workshop itself, but in the focused, follow-up sessions, where smaller supervision (sub)groups of colleagues can think through a challenge together or an area of stuckness — particularly when it involves complex mental health work or barriers to compassion.
If you’re curious about what I offer — or wondering whether a conversation or collaboration might be helpful — I hope this section gives you a sense of what’s possible. And of course, feel free to get in touch with me at charlie@balancedminds.com if you’d like to discuss anything further.
