During this self-guided, online Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) course, participants will be guided in learning how to develop their β€˜compassionate minds’ over 8 sessions.

Based upon the work of Professor Paul Gilbert and CFT, each session of the online CMT course will involve a mixture of taught content and experiential exercises and practices (e.g. mindfulness, imagery, compassionate mind skills development). As the sessions progress, participants will learn how to develop and access their β€˜compassionate minds’, and how they can use this to reduce self-criticism, balance strong negative emotions (e.g. anger, anxiety, shame), and become more compassionate to themselves and other people.

In this course, there are 8 video sessions facilitated by Chris & Charlie (approx 2 hours each), with each session accompanied by MP3 audios & PDF handouts.

The 8 session topics are as follows:

Session 1 – We have tricky brains

Session 2 – Our three systems

Session 3 – Developing the compassionate part of you

Session 4 – Compassion flowing out

Session 5 – Compassion flowing in

Session 6 – Self-compassion – Turning up for yourself

Session 7 – Working with your self-critic

Session 8 – The different parts of us
